Overview and History

In 1987, Stan and Norma Gittelman developed CoolerKING®, a filter for commercial walk-in coolers that helps keep food fresher and control unwanted moisture that breeds bacteria, yeast, and mold. From their backyard in Southern California, they grew their business locally and soon Humidity Control Systems, Inc. (H.C.S., Inc.) was off and running!

Today, CoolerKING® is used by major companies including fast food chains, restaurants, hotels, hospitals and grocery stores, throughout the United States and in many other parts of the world. The Gittelmans have had enormous success with their invention of CoolerKING® and their vision of food safety and freshness has evolved into the development of Polar Fresh®. This product offers the same security and peace of mind to consumers in their own home refrigerators by creating a safer and fresher food storage environment.

H.C.S.'s corporate office moved from California to Carson City, Nevada in 1994 and added a great new product line called AirO2®. Today, H.C.S., Inc. continues to promote CoolerKING® and strives to develop and market new products. The company is also featuring other products it believes in, made by outstanding independent inventors.
