Our Story

Humidity Control Systems, Inc., a pioneer of the zeolite refrigeration filter industry, was founded in 1987 with a vision for creating a better solution for keeping food fresher longer. Food waste not only effects our wallets but is also bad for the environment.  

Since starting our family owned and operated business, our primary focus was selling CoolerKING®, our commercial filter, for walk-in coolers and reach-ins to restaurants, supermarkets, schools, hospitals, hotels and casinos.

Although we were making an impact we were missing out on an opportunity to make an even bigger impact in every home and in every refrigerator...and that's how Polar Fresh® was born.

Our goal is to make it super easy for food service businesses & people at home to lower their carbon footprint and make a difference. What better place is there to start than inside your refrigerator?
